Callum Cole's Preliminary Task.

Silent Dream
Plot.
Main woman has been cheating on her boyfriend, and when the boyfriend finds out he decides to slowly poison her.  The story then carries on with the woman’s friend trying to find out why she dies so mysteriously and what is the secret the boyfriend trying to hide?
In the scene that I will be shooting you will see the main woman having a conversation with her friend, she complains of a headache and needs to sleep. The woman goes to sleep on her sofa, the next time you see her she’s in a coffin.

Setting.
The scene that I will be shooting will firstly be set in a front room of the woman’s house; there will be a sofa etc. The second setting is in a funeral parlour. I chose these settings as I believe it would create a more realistic feel to the situation.
Props.
·         Sofa
·         Coffin
·         Cups

Character Descriptions.
Name: Louise Ryley.
Age: 24
Occupation:  Cleaner
Louise is always working hard in life whether it’s trying to keep her job or keeping a close relationship with her boyfriend. She never had a good childhood with her parents splitting up after her dad has an affair with her auntie. Louise is the main character in this story; she is an outgoing bubbly young woman who has a secret that her boyfriend cannot find out about. When her boyfriend finds out that she’s cheating on him he turns on her and kills her slowly. Clueless what is happening to her, she complains that she is feeling unwell, thinking it’s just from exhaustion she carries on with her life until one day she dies in her sleep.  Louise is wearing casual clothing with hardly any make up on which shows she is a laid back person and doesn’t care about her appearance.

Name: Amie Peru
Age: 23
Occupation: Accountant
Amie is Louise’s best friend and is always there for her when she is needed. Like Louise she is a hard working but hard headed woman who has to analyse every detail in a situation. This trait leads her to finding out how her friend really died and making sure Louise’s boyfriend is locked away for good, but does this lead to something more sinister? Amie is also wearing smart office wear and has her make-up and hair done perfectly, this shows that she cares about her appearance and also dresses for her job role.

Script.
(MCU) Camera follows Louise carrying two cups of tea; she sits down on a sofa with Amie. Camera cuts between both characters as they talk.
Louise: Here’s your tea love, you know I really aint feeling well.
Amie: Cheers, why? What do you think is wrong?
Louise: Well lately I’ve been feeling really faint and light headed and I’m always tired. It’s just weird.
Amie: It’s not exhaustion by any chance?
Louise: It might be, mixed with the stress from keeping the secret from him. I think I’m going to have a lay down.
Amie: Oh ok, I’ll be round tomorrow to see how you are.
Camera zooms out into a medium shot and follows Amie out.
Louise: See you tomorrow love.
Long shot of Louise lying down on sofa shuts eyes and goes to sleep. Camera zooms in on face stays on face for 3 seconds, zooms out seeing             Louise in a coffin. Black out, titles role.

Final Film:

After filming and editing the film this is the final edit. I uploaded it to youtube and you can watch it here:

Evaluation:
I think that the editing process what the part of the task that went best for me, this is because i had previous experirence using editing software. I also enjoyed playign around with the clips and making the final film. next time I would makesure I had less outtakes as these were hard to findthe proper cuts inbtween alot of outtakes. I would also make sure that I planned my filming with the actors so that way it wouldnt be as rushed and i knew what i was filming and when. I would also spend more time playign around with the editing software to get the best result as possible.
