Audience research
This is the first draft of our thriller film. We put this on youtube and we asked friends and family to watch our film and give us critical feedback on what we could do to make our film look better and be more thriller like. To do this we created a questionnaire so that we could get feedback from our friends and family and they were then able to tell us what we could do to make it better. Below we have also included the link for the video.

Audience feedback questions:
Below i have listed the questions sent and quoted some of the answers we received back.
1. What was your first reaction of the film?
" It was good, the plot was strong and I enjoyed the fact that the killer was a woman."
"It confused me as it went backwards, it needs a clearer transition to show change of time"
"I think the filing was strong but the the killing needs to show the man looking more scared"
2. What did you think of the fact the killer was a woman?
" I think it was strong as you don't get that very often"
"It's a good to have a woman killer as its a unique selling point to the film"
"It was good as when I first saw her I couldn't imagine her killing anyone, so it was good for the shock factor."
3. What do you think were the strong points of the film?
" I liked the use of camera angles"
"The perfect mesh on conventional and unconventional ideas for a thriller film"
"I liked how when Sasha was being interviewed it flashed back to the past"
4. What was the weak points of the film?
"The sound needs to be more smoother between shots"
"There is a messy match on action shot towards the end of the film"
"Framing of some shots need to be changed"
5. If you could add one more thing to the film what would it be?
Many of the replies were saying that they wanted to see the deaths of the two girls.
Majority of the answers that we received back were all along the same basis, this helped us see what we done well and what we needed to focus on. Asking question 5 helped us see what we could include if we need more footage.

Feedback
Once we started the editing process we showed our film to the rest of our class and they gave us feedback as to what we could do better and how we could get a better grade. Here we have included scans of our audience feedback sheets.
When looking at the first sheet the feedback told us that the storyline was very complicated so to improve this we made changes so that the storyline was easier for our audience to understand and also when we were editing the film we made sure that the transitions that we were going to use were appropraite to the set task and made it easier for the audience to understand what was happening.
The first sheet has told us that when we were editing our film we needed to make sure that the bribery plot for our film was extremely clear so that it is obvious to the audience that the death was because the woman wanted money.
Another comment that we took on board and made sure we had before we started filming was that we needed to make sure that we had good actors because if we didn't have believable actors then the audience would have been taken away from watching the film and would instead watch the actors bad acting skills.
On these two feedback sheets they do not have any comments on how we could make our film better however, when we started editing we needed to make sure that we kept the storyline exacley to the script so that it stayed as good as it should be and also we needed to make sure that we kept the storyline unconventional as it showed us as being autuers.
And again, these feedback sheets do not tell us ways in which we could improve our film however, we did take on board the good things of our film and we made sure that our usp stayed the way we wanted it to so that it was unconventional and different to other films.
As we were going through the filming process we decided to make changes to our planning documents as we wanted to sort out what camera angles we were going to use and our developed ideas are shown on the image above.
Peer Reviews
After creating the first and second drafts of the film the rest of our class watched and reviewed it. They had to foucs on three things we have done successfully and three things we need to improve. This was alot of help as it showed us what parts of the film were unclear and what parts we needed to change and focus on.
This review mentioned how we used good transitions, camera angles and sound effects, but didn't mention any thing to improve. This was useful to show us what we done well but did not help us on what improve.
This review mentioned the same successful points as the first one but mentioned the we needed to sort out the match on action shot as it was a bit dodgy in the state it was. This gave us a target on how to improve it and what to focus on in the next draft. This one also mentions the same successful points but mentioned the continuity editing, this helped us see that what we was trying to do came across successfully. This one mentioned that we needed to sort out the sound so you could hear the dialouge more. This is contrast to the two before as they liked the sound. This led us to listen more closly to the film and change the levels of the sound so the actor is heard more.
This review has alot more different points then the ones before and mentions that we used titles, transitions and sound to match images well. It also told us that we needed to show the husband looking more scared when hes about to get stabbed, this made us think whether we had to refilm or just cut the shot differently to make the scene more scary.
Refelction of reviews.
- Not dropping the sound
- Get rid of the washing noise when washing the knife
- Add more variety of transitions and titles
- Add sound collages
- Frame shots better
- Add scream when the husband is getting murdered
- Sort out the match on action.
